Running America
October 2008
Those Vita-Mix people, (makers of very spanky blending equipment) announced the sponsorship of a great event and feature documentary, Running America. This follow up to Running the Sahara is being filmed September and October of 2008 and will raise awareness of childhood obesity. It will chronicle ultra distance marathon runners Charlie Engle and Marshall Ulrich as they run from San Francisco to New York City in an attempt to break the world record.
It began September 13th, and over a 45 day period runners will simultaneously attempt to run about 70 miles per day. Throughout the grueling 3,200 mile marathon, Vita-Mix will provide the runners with super-nutritious smoothies to keep them at peak performance and welcome them at the finish line in New York City, pretty cool stuff!
